Having graduated in psychology in 2009 and after a career break, Karine is an integrative counsellor, working with children, young people and adults.
Karine is a personable, outgoing, and kind counsellor who understands that sometimes people can struggle with the many stresses life throws at us all. She believes the counselling room is a private, safe, and comfortable environment where complex thoughts and feelings can be shared non-judgementally, allowing clients to feel valued and to have their feelings and thoughts heard and validated.
Everyone who comes to counselling brings their own life history and experiences, and it is essential that from the beginning, counsellor and client work together to identify their needs and goals from counselling so a trustful relationship can be built. Karine is comfortable working with people of different cultures and age groups. Her background as a flight attendant allowed her to develop an understanding of varied lifestyles and backgrounds. It helped shape her respect for all types of people and the difficulties they might be experiencing.
Karine is an integrative counsellor who can apply different therapeutic methods to her client's needs. She seeks to understand her client's difficulties through their own lens by stepping into their world in a person-centred way, naturally drawn to working flexibly and collaboratively, and by giving clients room to connect with and access their own wisdom to help them reach their goals.
She has experience in working with depression, anxiety, stress, anger, relationship issues, trauma, menopause, low self-worth/esteem, separation, and divorce.
Karine is a psychology graduate working towards her qualification as a Counselling Psychologist. She is a member of the BPS and BACP and works within their framework.
