Helping women process their past, explore the present and create their future. I support you to make sense of and cope with difficult and distressing issues and look at choices and options to help you feel more in control. I also support women on a self-development path with self-esteem, confidence, identity and personal growth. All issues throughout all phases of womanhood are welcome - the things we feel depressed about, need to deal with, are anxious about and want to explore or change including family and relationship issues, loss, health and work related stress. You may have one particular area that is causing you to feel depressed or anxious or you may want to look at lots of things that feel concerning, upsetting or traumatic. You lead the sessions with what feels right for you. I provide specialist support for survivors of domestic abuse, childhood abuse and for survivors of rape and sexual abuse having worked in this field for over 20 years. As a qualified Integrative Counsellor I believe there isn't one approach that fits everyone in all situations, so I combine different approaches, techniques and therapeutic interventions based on your individual needs, thoughts, feelings, emotions, spirituality, past experiences and current circumstances. I have worked in a person-centred way for over 25 years and my approach to counselling is to understand what you need and want, and I aim to provide a safe and supportive place for you, whether it is for one or two sessions or for long term counselling. I meet with clients in-person in Bath, Frome, Westbury, Devizes and Salisbury, I am a qualified Sand Tray Therapist which can be a good way to work together when you find it difficult to talk about what happened or you have no words to describe your thoughts and feelings and I am also a trained Walk & Talk Outdoor Counsellor if you preferred to meet outside. I am a qualified Online counsellor and offer counselling sessions online through zoom, email counselling, Live Chat/text counselling as well as phone counselling. I am a qualified Independent Domestic and Sexual Violence Adviser and in the past I have volunteered for the Samaritans for 5 years, for a Rape & Sexual Assault Centre for 2 years and for a Rape Support Helpline for 18 months. I worked in the charity sector for over 20 years before starting work as a private practitioner. It can be overwhelming to know where to start when you are looking for help and support. You are very welcome to email, call or text me, whichever way you feel most comfortable to ask any questions, to book a counselling session or to arrange for a 15 minute free initial no obligation call to find out more about what I offer and to talk through what you want and need help with. I can also send you an information pack if you would like to find out more. I look forward to hearing from you.
