Welcome. I am a qualified UKCP registered Psychotherapist offering counselling and psychotherapy to individuals from the centre of Bath and Frome. I also work with both individuals and groups as a facilitator using the Pesso Boyden method-PBSP.
Sometimes things build up and stop us enjoying our lives. We might feel overwhelmed, angry, anxious, sad or simply unable to deal with things in life. Many people find that psychotherapy helps them deal with feelings that are unwanted and confusing. I believe that when we understand more about ourselves and what motivates us, we have greater choice and freedom in our lives. By exploring ideas together and being curious about the way we behave and what lays behind it, the process of good psychotherapy can help you to deal with emotional or psychological problems and live a more satisfying and fulfilling life.
I believe this works best when accompanied by a compassionate and supportive individual, prepared to get alongside you in whatever dilemmas life is bringing up. It is a healing relationship out of which insight, compassion and connection to others emerges.
An initial consultation gives you the space to talk about what brings you to therapy and for me to assess how we might work together. This meeting would give you a sense of how I work, and for both of us, of how we would be able to work together. My intention is then to build upon a collaborative relationship that will enable you to grow in a way that suits you.
My fee for a 50 minute session is £45, initial session costs £25.
My areas of interest and experience lie within : anxieties, depression, isolation, loneliness, relationship difficulties, trauma- physical/emotional/sexual, separation/loss, substance abuse, men's issues.
My background:
Previously I worked for many years in TV and film as a sound mixer/Sound Recordist.
I also have 10 years of working in the Mental Health sector within the NHS with individuals who have complex mental health needs and with young adults leaving the care system.
