My approach to counselling is integrative which means I bring together different elements from a variety of theories, knowledge and skills and our work will be tailored to you. At the core of my work are humanistic values which means I work with deep empathy, openness and non-judgemental acceptance of my clients. I work with those affected by many different issues such as relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, trauma and grief. Whatever brings you to counselling I offer a warm, confidential space to explore the reasons you feel the way you do. Acknowledging a need for change is the first step to healing and I know how daunting making that initial contact can be. Our relationship will be at the heart of our work together. I aim to offer you the support you need in a way that suits you at your own pace. I will listen carefully as we work together to find your way through, whatever the situation and be present as those changes emerge. In addition to my private practice I have many years' experience of teaching and lecturing both adults and young people in the further education sector and worked within the inclusion and diversity department of a large corporation. I have gained insight into the difficulties facing people from diverse cultural backgrounds as well as the general challenges faced by people today in this constantly changing world. Additionally, I have comprehensive experience, awareness and interest in the challenges facing those who identify as or have been diagnosed as neurodivergent and of carers
