Thai yoga Massage is a unique and ancient healing art that helps and aids health problems such as headaches, back pain, digestive disorders, shoulder and neck tightness, insomnia and other stress- related conditions as well as improving posture and alignment.
It is a meditative form of body work, which aims to re-establish balance and harmony within the body’s own energy system and organisation. It helps to gently release all unnecessary tension that we hold in our bodies.
Thai Yoga Massage works the whole body through a combination of techniques such as acupressure and rhythmic compression, and follows a sequence of gentle body manipulations and assisted stretching. Within a session the body is gently compressed, stretched, rocked and deeply relaxed.
Thai Yoga massage can be tailored to benefit anyone regardless of age and flexibility.
The treatment is done fully clothed (comfortable yoga-type clothes) on a firm mat on the floor, usually for a minimum of an hour or 90 minutes.
I hold a Dance degree. I have continued my training and dance research for over twenty years studying with several teachers in NY, California and Japan. The understandings that I developed from my career as a dancer led to a growing personal interest of expanding my work into the form of therapy.
In 2016 I took my practitioner training with great teacher Ralf Marzen at Mudita School in London when I certified as a Thai Yoga Massage practitioner. Soon after, I completed his advanced course: Rocking and Rhythm Technique.
I continued developing my own approach to the practice. Learning through workshops, teaching movement and through the experience itself- of working with so many people since I started offering my practice.
I have also incorporated mindful techniques to my practice after completing the 8 week MBCT mindfulness course at the Oxford Mindfulness Center.
In addition, I have integrated into my practice many aspects of Somatic Therapy, after completing one year of Somatic Movement Therapy and Education at Moving Soma Centre, where I was awarded a Jill Hayes scholarship in 2019.
I have been a yoga practitioner for more than ten years which has been a strong element that has supported my work through my own practice.
I have come to love giving Thai Yoga Massage and its flow of movement. I respect the fact that the work of therapy is an evolving process that integrates both: the giver and the receiver.
