How I work I passionately believe that a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship is essential to achieve a successful outcome in counselling.
My approach is collaborative and client-centred to work with you to achieve your therapeutic goals. I primarily use a psychodynamic therapy model in my work. This approach differs from other psychotherapies as it focuses on making sense of your current difficulty and the feelings, thoughts and associated memories that may have brought you to your current situation.
These elements are then used to gather a greater understanding of how you relate to yourself and to friends, family, partners and work colleagues. This way of working supports you in becoming more self-reflective, with a forward-looking approach that acknowledges the influence of the past, with an emphasis on making change in the future. What are the first steps?
Send me an email to arrange a first appointment. We will meet to discuss your situation and decide together whether or not counselling could be helpful in reaching your goals.
About Me I'm an accredited Psychodynamic therapist and counsellor, with over ten years of practice with a range of emotional difficulties. In that time, I have gained a range of experience working in education including both the independent and state sector schools and university counselling services.
My work experience also extends to the NHS for adult psychological services and in primary care.
