Perhaps you are currently in crisis or struggling to make sense of past hurts and traumas. Maybe you are aware of changes you would like to make in your life and need support to do so. Or perhaps you feel overwhelmed or lost but unsure as to why.
As a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor, I provide a therapeutic, confidential space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
My aim is to support and empower you to find solutions to any areas where you may feel stuck, facilitating growth and change. Counselling is a process that can help you gain new insights and resolve unfinished business which can block your ability to flourish and reach your full potential. Gaining an understanding of why we feel and behave the way we do, can enable us to work towards change and a happier, healthier relationship with ourselves and others.
As an Integrative Counsellor, I use the Humanistic models of Person Centred, Transactional Analysis and Gestalt therapies in response to your individual needs. In my experience, a successful therapeutic relationship, built on trust and respect, can promote positive change and be immensely healing in itself.
Working collaboratively, at a pace determined by you, we can explore your thoughts and feelings and any underlying causes with compassion. Your first appointment provides the opportunity for you to outline what brings you to counselling. This will enable me to learn more about you, and how I can best help you. Importantly, our initial meeting will also give you the chance to ask any questions you may have, and to see if I am the right counsellor for you.
I work on a weekly basis, within short term, long term or open ended sessions. You are free to end sessions at any stage that feels right for you.
I am warm, empathic and accepting. I have worked within various caring professions over the years. I embrace diversity and welcome people from all backgrounds.
As a member of the British Association of Psychotherapists and Counsellors (BACP) I am bound by their ethical framework. Your safety and wellbeing is of paramount importance to me.
I have particular experience of working with people seeking counselling for:
Anxiety or depression. Feelings of Isolation or despair. Bereavement. Loss of a relationship or job. Terminal Diagnosis of themselves or a loved one. Miscarriage. Anger Issues. Feeling overwhelmed or lonely. Struggling to care for a loved one. Low self-esteem. ADHD. Stress. Trauma.
