I have always had an active interest in holistic approaches to health and wellness and integrated them into my life. I first trained in massage thirty-five years ago and I have been running my own complementary therapy business since 2005.
My main therapy is Shiatsu, and I also integrate Inner Qigong and Movement Shiatsu, Holistic and Aromatherapy massage into my work, according to the needs of the client. I'm a member of the Complementary Therapists Association and have worked with all kinds of people across all the sectors, including corporates and private businesses, charities, local government, and the NHS. I have had a parallel career in the third sector leading on health and wellbeing community projects targeting health inequalities. I have worked in primary care, and I hold a Master's degree in Medical Anthropology.
I am currently developing workshops for carers of people with long-term health conditions designed to support them with self-care and offer practical, affordable holistic interventions for the people they are caring for. The Parkinson's Disease Carers Group meets for 2 hours on a Saturday, once a month and costs £20.
