As an experienced family therapist in CAMHS and private practice, I have worked with individuals, couples and families for over 14 years. I specialise in working with relationships, self-harm, mood difficulties, emotional dysregulation and eating and body image difficulties.
Alongside working with families and couples, I have a particular interest in supporting clients who are neurodiverse, diagnosed or self-diagnosed, especially those diagnosed later in life, to live in an authentic and unmasked way that aligns with their values. I am passionate about helping clients to develop new narratives about their lived experiences and to feel supported to be their authentic and unmasked selves.
I provide a compassionate and open space and embrace working in a neuro-affirming way to support you to feel empowered and heard. As a family therapist, I have worked with children, teens and adults for over a decade. I offer a warm, open space and believe in an integrated therapeutic approach. I enjoy getting to know clients, understanding their lived experiences and working together to understand what support you need to live in the way that aligns with your values and needs.
I have a qualification in mental health nursing from City University. I then completed my post-graduate qualification in systemic eating disorder therapy before training as a family therapist at University of Exeter (MSc qualifying level training) I have worked in a wide range of CAMHS and private settings working with clients of all ages and presentations. I currently work at the University of Exeter as a Lecturer on the Youth Intensive Psychological Practitioner Post Graduate Certificate programme. This involves training students nationally to work in psychiatric inpatient services and home treatment/crisis services for children and young people experiencing severe and enduring mental health difficulties.
Life can feel overwhelming and the ways we manage our overwhelm can cause us more distress. I offer a space that is authentic and reflective. I work in a trauma informed and human way; acknowledging that therapy can be hard and that mental burnout has huge impact on our lives. Support needs to be well-paced and individualised.
