My offering comes under the umbrella of somatic therapy and bodywork – I am a Certified Sexological Bodyworker, and also draw from Gestalt therapy. "Somatic" refers to all my practices being grounded in the experience of the vibrant, living body. We work to develop and explore the felt sense of self and how it relates to our ability to feel good, and orient ourselves towards growth and goodness. This applies to sexuality in as much as the experience of pleasure, sexual, as well as more generally, is fundamental to our ability to organise and relate healthily in this world.
As well as addressing problems – pain, discomfort, numbness, chronic pelvic conditions, relational and emotional expressions of trauma, problematic fixations or fetishes – working with sexuality can lead to profound personal insight and acceptance, and also opens the door to altered states. Working to improve self-awareness, communication, agency and satisfaction in terms of solo and partner sex can yield huge dividends in the rest of our lives. Not to mention that places to explore the limits and depths of our personal relationship with Eros are few and far between in society. I work to create a truly accepting space that can celebrate all your desires and include all sides of your experience.
In Sexological Bodywork, we work together to agree on a learning objective and educational contract for each session, so that all exercises are client-led and in service of your reasons for seeing me. We focus on stepping outside our usual habits and conditioning to directly experience how things can be different. We talk about "fearing less and feeling more".
I am queer, neurodivergent and mixed-race. My practice is trauma-informed and intersectional, and I'm experienced in working with a wide variety of kinks, fetishes, and ecosexuality, as well as altered states and the intersection between sex and spirituality. More broadly, I am an intersectional feminist in the tradition of bell hooks, and my politics and my spirituality are anarchist, animist and pagan. I worship the earth and in particular, I worship the ecology which sustains me, incarnate and disincarnate. I work with the will that's there and seek informed consent from all my relationships including my internal ones. I do not tolerate oppression or arbitrary authority. I seek a frame of relationship that is not anthropocentric, that understands each human as pure potential given form by elemental, ancestral and imaginative forces.
