Sandra Ballester is a UKCP accredited psychotherapist, supervisor and stress management therapist, and has been in private practice since 2002. She works integratively, drawing on several approaches. She most often works psychodynamically (how our unconscious mind and past experiences affect us today) and transpersonally (what gives our life its deepest meaning and purpose). Her original training was in psychosynthesis.
An important aspect of Sandra’s approach is to listen to you carefully, and really understand your concerns. Your life experience is unique, and she will not make assumptions about you or what you are going through. It is essential you feel fully understood and empathised with. She also seeks to hear what it is not being said explicitly, to bring out that which you may be experiencing but are so far unable to put into words.
In her psychotherapeutic work she usually works medium to long term on an allocated weekly-slot basis, but can also do shorter work when appropriate.
Sandra also offers Autogenic Therapy, which is a stress management technique that can also be used for personal growth and artistic or professional development. This technique is taught over approximately 10 sessions. She is a full clinical member of the British Autogenic Society (BAS).
She abides by the ethical and professional guidelines of the UKCP and BAS and has regular supervision.
