Dr Shibib is a Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist with extensive experience working with children, adolescents and their families. She is currently a consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist within the NHS and Clinical Director of the Community Wellbeing and Mental Health Care group at Sheffield Children's Hospital. Her experience in Child and adolescent psychiatry includes the specialist assessment and treatment of children and young people with, ADHD, Autism, anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder and tic disorders. Her research interests include ADHD. She has contributed to literature for ADHD and written chapters on ADHD and coexisting mental health conditions. She has a particular interest in paediatric psychodermatology and is currently leading research trials at Sheffield University, looking at early intervention in Atopic Dermatitis and the impact on maternal attachment and infant development. Shatha is passionate about teaching and is an honorary senior lecturer at Sheffield University, she is also the Training Programme Director for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Specialist Higher Training in South Yorkshire.
Shatha completed her medical degree at the University of Dundee in 2003. She completed her postgraduate medical training in Sheffield and is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. She obtained a Foundation degree in Family therapy and Masters Degree in Child Health, from the University of Leeds with Merit. She also has a Diploma degree in Dermatology from the University of Cardiff.
