More recently she has worked as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist for a community forensic camhs team. Over the years she has worked in a range of settings with a variety of people from teachers in schools to staff and social workers in residential settings. Her aim has been to help and support children and young people from whatever walk of life with mental health difficulties/ emotional well-being be that very mild to moderate/complex and enduring. Alongside her work in the NHS she worked on the Clinical Psychology doctorate training programme for a number of years before becoming a programme director to lead a team of lecturers to train mental health staff working in educational settings in preventative models and early help to earn a postgraduate diploma.
Her experience includes specialist assessment and treatment of children and young people with a whole range of symptoms, but she has also spoken on radio and presented on television and social media to help disseminate information in a jargon free way. She has gained skills in a range of approaches to help assist psychological thinking.
