Are you a worrier? Do you feel nervous about things other people seem to find easy? Does anxiety get in the way of you doing the things you want to do in your life?
I am an experienced Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years of experience working in the NHS. I set up Woodville Psychology Services in 2021 to offer people support with their mental health and emotional well-being using tried and tested psychological therapy approaches.
I specialise in working with people who struggle with:
I also have experience supporting people with other common mental health difficulties, such as those labelled stress, low mood, or depression. I work with adults (age 18+) and have a particular interest in supporting university students at this challenging stage of life.
I aim to provide a warm, empathic and compassionate approach within a safe therapeutic space where you can feel comfortable to be yourself and share your worries. I work in partnership with you to develop a better understanding of yourself. This can include thinking about why you respond the way you do in different situations. With this knowledge, we can look for ways to improve your well-being and develop a greater sense of satisfaction with your life.
I am trained and experienced in using many different types of evidence-based therapy to support you. I use my knowledge of these approaches to select the elements that will be most helpful for you and create a bespoke therapy experience. I find Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) approaches are most helpful for people who struggle with worry, fear, and anxiety.
Woodville Psychology Services is based in Cardiff. I offer face-to-face appointments in private therapy rooms in Cardiff and offer online and telephone therapy sessions so I can offer support wherever you are in the UK. You can have sessions from the comfort of your own home or another place you feel comfortable if you would prefer.
I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, and I am a Chartered member of the British Psychological Society. I follow their codes of ethics and conduct to ensure you receive safe and effective support. I have an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service certificate. I am a registered provider for many health insurance companies including BUPA, AXA, Aviva, Cigna and WPA. I understand how hard it can be to reach out for support from a therapist. I would be happy to have a brief phone call to give you a chance to get to know me, and how I work, a bit better before you decide if you would like to have therapy sessions with me.
