Holistic Voice Therapy can be delivered in two different therapeutic approaches:
The first approach, ‘Passive Voice Therapy' where the client receives a treatment of gentle tones and overtones (harmonic singing) in a technique designed to place them into a deep state of relaxation similar to deep meditation research has shown that many physical, emotional and mental health benefits can be achieved using this approach.
The second approach, known as ‘Vocal Processing Techniques,’ is where the practitioner supports the client to use voice, breath, movement and visualisation exercises that are relevant to the client’s symptoms/ situation (the practitioner has 22 different techniques to choose from). Singing has also been shown to increase salivary Immunoglobulin A – one of the body’s primary defence mechanisms.
