A POEM FOR CHRISTMAS
What did you do this year
O Brother, O Sister?
Did you climb high mountains,
Ascending through the clouds to reach
The heavens?
Or did you dig deep down into
The earth, clay beneath your nails,
As you searched for precious stones in the dirt.
This year,
O Brother, O Sister,
I looked up at the highest mountains,
And I found my way through thick clouds
To climb into the heavens.
I dug deep down into
This earth, clay beneath my nails,
As I sought precious stones in dark places.
At this time of year,
O Brother, O Sister
Celebrate
And remember:
We are One.
