My role as an Osteopath is to support you to find health and balance, helping you understand the underlying cause of your pain and discomfort and find ways to prevent it reoccurring. Osteopathy is perfect for anyone looking to feel more comfortable and at ease within their body, with either specific acute pain or injury, long term niggling issues or for general nurturing of health and wellbeing.
I have experience treating people of all ages with a diverse range of issues such as neck pain, sciatica, low back pain, headaches, arthritic conditions, sporting injuries, postural strain, chronic pain and anxiety. I use a variety of techniques including cranial osteopathy, joint articulation, manipulation and medical acupuncture; all tailored to the individual needs of the patient.
As a healthcare practitioner, I recognise the relationship between mind and body and how the stresses of work and life may impact the body, resulting in pain and tension. Acknowledging and nurturing this relationship can be crucial in allowing the body to let go and heal.
Since graduating in 2011, I have worked in several busy London practices before moving to the South West. I am always developing my skills and have a particular interest in helping antenatal and postnatal women. With the unique postural changes this brings to the body, osteopathy can help the body adapt by releasing any restrictions and tension.
I have also completed a two-year postgraduate diploma in Paediatric Osteopathy at the Osteopathic Centre for Children (OCC) and been a tutor within their children's clinic. As a specialist Paediatric Osteopath, I often work with breastfeeding specialists, health visitors and midwives to support newborns and young babies following traumatic or difficult births. I also work with children whose parents/carers seek help for a diverse range of issues. Osteopaths do not treat 'conditions' but aim to get the body working as well as it can by addressing any mechanical issues that may be compromising it. Each stage of childhood, from birth to adolescence, brings its own physical challenges. Osteopathy is a gentle manual approach which is suitable for children of all ages.
I am a registered Osteopath and a member of the Institute of Osteopathy.
In 2017, Osteopaths were awarded Allied Health Profession (AHP) status by NHS England.
