Welcome
Sometimes navigating the complexities of life and being human gets a little tricky to manage and we can get lost along the way. Therapy can assist you in finding your way back home to yourself and offering you a safe place to talk. Sometimes just small changes in our thinking can lead to us making choices that are more aligned with our authentic selves and that lead us to richer, more fulfilling and rewarding lives. I work with clients in therapy to establish and eliminate the blocks that might be preventing you from living life to the fullest.
About me
I am a member of BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and I hold a BA Hons in Counselling. I also hold an MSc Psychology and I am currently working towards a PhD.
I have over 15 years experience as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist working in a variety of settings, with a diverse range of clients.
My background is in sports science and I have vast experience of working within the fitness industry.
I am passionate about the incorporation of physical health and fitness into the realms of personal wellbeing and being a happy and healthy individual. The mind and body are intrinsically linked and I have a special interest in working with trauma and peak performance.
Therapy
CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) is a proven, effective and evidenced form of therapy, widely used within the NHS. I am an integrative therapist, with CBT at the core of my training. I believe my integrative training has provided me both the art and science necessary to assist my clients in achieving positive therapeutic outcomes. A large part of my work encompasses me holding space for you and offering unconditional support while you explore your experiences of being human. I will walk alongside you in your journey without judgment, trying to fix you or impact the outcome. Empathy is the cornerstone of my work. While friends and family can be a great source of support, sometimes they are simply just too close to be impartial or do not have the necessary skills to support your journey.
I am experienced in supporting people with a wide range of difficulties including:
Assessment
I offer a free initial telephone assessment which provides us both the opportunity to ensure that I am the right therapist for you. A full assessment will be completed during our first session.
Therapy sessions
The initial number of sessions are agreed upon following assessment. Reviews take place every 6 weeks. I provide both short term and long term therapy tailored to your personal need. Therapy sessions last for 50 minutes.
A concessionary rate is available for students.
Payment can be made by cash or bank transfer at the end of the session and 48 hours’ notice of cancellation is required.
