Osteopathy is a gentle and effective hands-on approach to healthcare, used to treat pain and musculoskeletal conditions.
Lucy Smith qualified in 2006 and has a broad knowledge base from working in private practice and within GP surgeries.
All osteopaths must complete a minimum of four years full time training and be registered with the General Osteopathic Council. Osteopaths are highly competent healthcare professionals, recognisedby the NHS as qualified to diagnose and treat independently. Osteopaths can treat many conditions, including back and neck pain, arthritic pain, sports injuries, trapped nerves e.g. sciatica, and frozen shoulder/tendonitis.
Lucy's treatment style is open and explanatory. In addition to treatment she aims to show patients how to self manage their injury at home using pilates exercises and ergonomic advice.
