I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and Integrative Psychotherapist. As well as having my own private practice, I have worked as an honorary counsellor in a number of corporate, medical and voluntary settings. I now see clients in Clifton. I also work with Sporting Chance, a sporting mental health charity, to offer one-to-one psychotherapy to current and former sportspeople and their families. I also run mental health workshops for the National Deaf Children’s Society, focussing on the well-being of parents of children with hearing loss.
In addition to client-facing work, I used to teach Advanced Clinical Practice on the Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy at Metanoia Institute/Middlesex University and also worked as a Research Supervisor and Clinical Viva Examiner. I have now stepped back from this academic work to focus on my clinical practice.
Individual Counselling/Therapy
I bring together a number of complementary approaches (including Internal Family Systems, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing and mindfulness, if appropriate) to help you become more aware of what is going on both in and around you. I focus on how your experiences in the present reflect patterns from your past – and together we will explore how your body, emotions and behavioural patterns are inter-related. This will help you to learn more about yourself so you can resolve and move on from issues that are holding you back.
These might include: trauma (complex and single event) depression, anxiety, panic attacks, addictions, relationship problems, eating disorders, low self-esteem, trauma ,bereavement, bullying, stress, sexual dysfunction, fears and phobias..
If you are registered with Aviva, AXA PPP or Vitality Health Insurance, you may be able to speak to your GP/Psychiatrist about a referral
