I came to Shiatsu by accident. Whilst working as a Postdoctoral Scientist at the Medical Research Council in Cambridge I took an evening course with Ann Woodburn. I loved it so much that I started my 4-year Shiatsu training soon after my son was born. I set up my own practice in the Cotswolds and then continued to practice in Winnipeg, Canada. After 12 years in the "True North" I moved back to the UK in 2019 and now look forward to sharing the benefits of Shiatsu here in Bristol.
After receiving Shiatsu treatments myself I always feel better, more balanced, relaxed and energized at the same time. But over the years I also found that giving treatments has a tremendous impact on my own health. It is such a rewarding experience to be able to work with a person in this way.
My approach to Shiatsu is gentle. This often goes deeper than using a lot of pressure, especially when the person receiving the treatment already experiences pain. I would like people to feel harmonized with themselves when they leave after the treatment.
