My name is Tanya Beachus and I offer Person-Centred Counselling face to face and on the telephone.
As I am trained in the Integrative Approach, I can adapt my style creatively to help you express, understand and process your feelings safely. I can also offer Cognitive Behaviour Therapy techniques to help you navigate difficulties you may be experiencing. I work with the here and now as well as the past. It is your story and your needs that I will follow and be guided by.
I can work with trauma both recent and historic; issues of abandonment and attachment; anxiety and depression; mental illness such as personality disorders, bi-polar and schizophrenia; self-harm; chronic health issues; addictions, and grief and loss. I work to hold you safe within your distress and help you find your way to recovery.
I seek to adapt my approach to meet your individual needs. I work in a trauma-informed way both in practice and training. I do not ascribe to the question which asks what is wrong with you; it is more a question of what has happened to you.
I will meet you with acceptance, empathy, authenticity and above all compassion. Whatever your situation, counselling offers a safe confidential space to explore and grow in understanding and self- confidence with the aim to enhance your life and relationships.
I work with adult individuals and welcome clients from all diverse communities be it cultural or neurodiversity for example.
I am accredited with The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society. I engage in regular supervision to ensure ethical considerations and safe practice for your wellbeing. I also attend courses for my continuing professional development to enhance my work with clients.
