Valerie Gage
If any part of this feels familiar, it doesn’t mean you’re doing life “wrong.”
It often means you’ve been holding far more than anyone realised — and doing it with a kind of quiet strength that has come at a cost.
My approach is warm, relational, and gently attuned to the body.
There is no pressure to open up before you’re ready. We move slowly, listening to what feels possible, exploring what you’ve been carrying, and allowing small moments of steadiness and connection to build over time.
My work is informed by:
• qualification as a trauma therapist
• advanced Somatic Experiencing® training
• relational and embodied psychotherapy
• a deep understanding of long-term overwhelm, grief, and early emotional
• anxiety and long-term stress
• trauma and complex trauma
• grief and long-held sorrow
• dissociation or feeling “far away” inside
• high-functioning exhaustion
• relational patterns shaped by early life
• emotional overwhelm that doesn’t always show externally
If you’re looking for a therapist who understands high-functioning survival, long-term holding, or the quieter ways people disappear inside themselves to cope, I’d be glad to walk alongside you.
Online and/or telephone appointments are available.
