Eda Giray
Hello, I’m Eda, a qualified Art Psychotherapist offering a warm, safe, and creative space for children, adolescents, and adults navigating a wide range of emotional, social, and psychological difficulties.
Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, grief, relationship challenges, or feeling stuck, I aim to help you explore these challenges, reconnect with your inner world, and move toward healing, change, and growth.
My approach is grounded in psychodynamic, object relations, and attachment theory, and enriched by trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and eclectic perspectives. This foundation allows me to work in a way that’s both relational and flexible tailoring therapy to your unique needs, experiences, and pace. I draw from a range of tools and approaches, so we can find what works best for you. I also work within strict ethical guidelines to ensure your confidentiality and safety throughout our time together.
What is Art Therapy?
Art Therapy is a powerful form of psychotherapy that uses creative expression alongside talking. You don’t need any experience or confidence in making art to benefit the focus isn’t on producing something ‘good’ or ‘finished’, but on what emerges in the process and the meaning you make of it. Sometimes, words alone can’t fully capture what we’re feeling or have experienced. Creativity and art-making can give shape, colour, and story to what feels unclear or unspoken helping the unconscious become visible in a safe and contained way, and opening up new possibilities, perspectives, and experiences. Art-making can also support emotional regulation, bring clarity to confusing experiences, and help us access insight and integration.
