I believe that we are all striving to do the best we can with the tools that we have at hand. Many people find themselves in challenging situations that can make them question who they are and want they want from life.

Therapy is a great place to explore some of these challenges and allows the opportunity to gain a deeper perspective on who you are as a person. I take the view that as human beings we are made of an array of different parts, all with their own agendas and desired goals. Often when we are feeling dysregulated, we have an array of different parts competing for our primary attention, causing us to question who we are and what we want.

My approach invites you to explore all aspects of yourself, from the parts that feel strong and resourceful, to the parts that may have been pushed aside, silenced or judged as unacceptable. This can involve inner child work, exploring unmet needs and developing greater self-compassion.

I also support clients in learning to regulate emotions more effectively, uncovering their core values and reflecting on what truly makes life meaningful. Working from a client centred perspective, I let you lead the sessions with what seems most important to you.

We can collaboratively agree a structure and work out what works best for you. As a practitioner the key areas I focus on are exploring your relationship to yourself, to those around you and to your body. Taking a holistic approach to therapy that encompasses all of your experiences.

My way of working is grounded in the belief that the therapeutic relationship is at the very centre of effective therapy. I place a strong emphasis on creating a safe, compassionate and boundaried space where you can bring your whole self. Over the course of my career, I have gained experience working with a wide range of people and presenting issues.

I have supported clients living with anxiety, depression and low mood, as well as those struggling with addiction and substance misuse. I have worked extensively within the prison system, supporting offenders to explore their patterns of behaviour, confront painful emotions and develop healthier, more constructive ways of engaging with themselves and others. Many of the clients I have worked with have experienced traumatic experiences, both from single events or complex relational trauma.

I always engage in a way that feels safe for clients and accommodate needs where necessary and appropriate. My approach is trauma informed and grounded in an understanding of attachment and adverse childhood experiences. I work within the BACP Ethical Framework and am dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of professional and ethical practice.

This includes ensuring clear boundaries, protecting confidentiality, and working in line with GDPR requirements to safeguard your personal information.

My commitment is to provide therapy that is safe, respectful, and trustworthy, offering you the best possible conditions for growth and change.
