My pronouns are she/her

I qualified as a Mental Health Nurse in 2011 and I have recently completed a Post Graduate Diploma (with distinction) in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I am currently studying the final (Masters) year of the Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Derby. I am a student member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).

Life can have its struggles which can often be difficult to navigate. Many people have experienced traumatic events or injustices which can have multiple impacts on our mental health and wellbeing. Our early years and relationships with others can have an impact on how we view ourselves, others and the world. The commitment to attend therapy can provide a space to explore these issues.

I aim to create a therapeutic relationship which is based on trust, a non-judgemental and open minded attitude, compassion, empathy and curiosity. I am trained in an approach which integrates three main theories; Person Centred Counselling, Attachment Theory and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (C.B.T). I also integrate some of the concepts of Compassion Focussed Therapy (C.F.T) into my work. I have experience of working with people who would like to explore early (and other) attachments, anxiety, depression, loss, self harm, trauma, (including domestic violence, abuse, rape and other sexual traumas), low self-esteem, anger, stress, relationship difficulties, complex family dynamics, work difficulties and a wide range of other issues. I am open minded about working with a range of difficulties. I have regular supervision to support my own personal and professional development.

Finding the therapist and type of therapy for your needs is important. I offer a free, 15 minute telephone consultation to help you to decide if my approach would be helpful for you.

I charge £50 for 50 minute sessions, which reflects my current level of training and experience.
